Caturra is a varietal which mutated from the Bourbon. It was discovered in 1937 in Brazil. It has extremely high yields, to the point of damaging the plant from the weight. Cup quality is good, particularly in high altitude farms. Caturra has been popular with farmers throughout Latin America. Cherries ripen red or yellow depending on the variation of plant.
