We were pleased to taste an offer sample this good from Dominican Republic. It fits right in with washed Central American coffees like Guatemala or Nicaragua, with a mostly restrained cup profile that shows balance. A base layer of raw sugar sweetness underscores the coffee and is highlighted by flavor notes of roasted nut and bittering chocolate character. The smells in the dry fragrance indicate an herbal sweetness that comes through in the cup as a dried basil note and lends to a pleasant savory-sweet aspect.
