La Montana has a sweet dark sugar scent in the dry fragrance, hinting at a smell of oatmeal and raisin cookies. The wet aroma shows a pleasant core bittersweetness, straight-forward and balanced, and then cinnamon flecks compliment the steam when running a spoon through the crust. Acidity is fairly muted when the coffee is hot, only really coming up to a mild level as the temperature dips. A backdrop of simple raw sugar sweetness adds depth of sweetness to an understated raisin note, along with walnut and baking chocolate in the back end. A faint flavor of toasted graham cracker crust also comes through as the cup cools and gives a honey accent to sweetness. Chocolate roast flavors are prominent. Espresso alert, this one is a chocolate bomb! This description is from the cupping notes of our coffee importer, Sweet Maria's
