This lot from Roger Solis has dark sugar sweetness in the cup, and is peppered with baking spices too. The dry fragrance has a smell of honey glazed nut, and wet aroma sees a spot of dried fruits behind the unrefined sweetness. This lot from La Casona is a modest brewed coffee, the sweetness running a range of light brown sugar to more caramelizing smokey sweetness. Sugar browning base flavors are convincing, like butter toffee, and caramel, and fade to roasted almond, and ever so slightly bittering cocoa flavors in the finish. A black tea note adds an acidic touch to the coffee and has a bracing quality. Bittersweet chocolate roast tones dominate and body has a buttery tactile feel. Works well for chocolate toned espresso shots, with mouthfeel on the oily side, and a walnut note too. This description is from the cupping notes of our coffee importer, Sweet Maria's
