Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffea arabica and the home to the greatest volume of genetically diverse varietals in the world. Heirloom coffees have not been cultivated through the scientific process of genetic selection. Many of Ethiopias coffee farmers simply grow wild arabicas which have been cross-bred between the countries wide-range of varieties and species. The result of the genetic diversity in these heirlooms is a wide range of exciting flavors and aromas.
