I've really enjoyed brewing this Tanzania peaberry the last few days. I roasted it to two different levels, and ultimately settled on City+ as my preferred development. The cup was mouth refreshing and sweet, with a bright backbone of acidity that really popped. There's a sweet lemon citrus note in the ground coffee that settles in nicely with notes of caramelized sugar, and raisin. The wet aroma had a sweet dark malt note, with orange accent. The brewed coffee doesn't stray far from this preview. The cup had a sweetness of cooked sugars and dark honey, with malty-sweet notes in the aroma. A lemon glaze accent brought a bracing acidic quality, and connected notes of fruit tea, orange, and red berry to the sweet flavors within. I picked out some spice notes as the coffee cooled, like cinnamon and ginger powders, with a subtle note of aromatic wood. Overall, this is such pleasantly bright brew to drink, that reminds me of a cross between spiced Rwanda, and some of our more black current/citrus type Kenya's. The sweetness is syrupy, and should hold up to dark roasting too. This description is from the cupping notes of our coffee importer, Sweet Maria's
