City+ is a good starting roast point, where bittersweet flavors balance out accents of savory nut and interesting green herbal notes. The sweetness in the dry fragrance had hints of bran muffin, cocoa and almond. The wet grounds lifted complex herbal hints, chocolate brownie and raw nuts in the steam. City+ roasts presented mid-toned cup flavors, malty-sweet notes of molasses bread with walnuts, accents of cereal grains, and powdery cocoa in the finish. A caramel note builds as the coffee cools, with an interesting herbal hint of lemon sage in the cup aroma. Full City roasts pulled out flavors of chewy chocolate confections, milk chocolate at first that extended to more intense roasty cacao nibs in the aftertaste. This made a great single origin espresso too, chocolate-forward flavors with the creamy richness of dark truffles, accented by toasted sesame, and a faint basil aroma.
