Product Description

Karatu Peaberry has a tasty confluence of moderate fruit characteristics and sweetness in the brew, with relatively high acidity that lends to cup clarity. Though not too distracting, there are some earth-toned background flavors, but it's the berry notes and brightness that captured my attention. The coffee has a jammy smell in both dry fragrance and wet aroma, like blackberry reduction, blueberry, and some tea-like, chamomile accents. The coffee has nice fruited complexity at City to City+, both berry and ripe black plum being fruit flavors of note in our cupping, though they weren't very apparent until the coffee cooled down some. There's a mild bittering aspect in the background that is like grape seed or loose tea leaf (not brewed). Acidity has elements of fruit-flavored teas that add structure to the cup.
