An appetizing portrait of fruits hangs in the air after grinding the coffee, and butts up against a saturated scent of raw sugars. Accent notes have elements of fragrant citrus and plump berry, and show incredible sweetness too. Brighter fruits mark the steam after pouring the hot water, with a scent of orange leading the charge, along with a brown sugar accent, and hint of red berry. The cup profile has a mix of dried and fresh fruits that bring a 'wow' factor in the brew, doubling down with complex aromatic spices, and saccharine sweetness in the aftertaste. The fruit flavors at City roast level have a grabby aspect, like citrus peel, that highlights a note of grapefruit and pulls at your tongue with refreshing effect. I pick up on notes of mandarin orange, golden plum, dried goji berry, coconut water, and green grape. Dark fruits were more prominent in my Full City roast, as expected, with mulling spice notes augmenting bittersweet chocolate notes. This is a really versatile Kenya, syrupy sweet and fruited at every stop along our recommended roast spectrum. This description is from the cupping notes of our coffee importer, Sweet Maria's
