Vacuum Pot produces a nice light cup of coffee. Besides this, it is a very entertaining brew method to watch.

How Much Liquid Coffee Do you Desire?

you can brew various amounts of coffee with a press pot method. Take note of the proportions below so you know how much water and grounds you need to prepare:

Time to Brew!

Now that we've gathered all we need, let's starting brewing! Follow these step:

Step One

Fill your kettle with water and boil.

Step Two

Once boiled, pour the specified amount of water into the lower portion of the vacuum pot. Place the insulator metal wire (which comes with the vacpot) onto the stove burner and then place the lower portion of the vacpot onto the insulator. Heat the stove burner 3/4 heat.

Step Three

Install the filter in the top portion of the vacuum pot.

You may opt for the cloth filter that comes with the unit. Pull the strings tight so that the cloth us firmly afixed to the metal frame. Slide the metal chain through the lower pipe and hook onto the bottom of the pipe. Alternately, you may choose to obtain a glass Kory rod instead of using the cloth and chain filter. You will need to purchase this separately using eBay or some other source. To install, simply place the thin, smooth end of the rod into the lower pipe of the vacpot. It will not snap into place and can rattle around a little. The weight of the rod prevents grounds from filtering down the pipe, but does allow coffee brew to stream down the pipe.

Step Four

Grind the necessary amount of coffee beans based on the chart above. Put the grounds into the top portion of the vacpot. Gently place the top portion of the vacpot onto its bottom. Ensure that the two are tightly joined.

Step Five

Watch with delight! With the vacpot assembled, steam from the boiling water has no place to go and will build up pressure in the lower portion of the vacuum pot. This pressure pushes down on the water in the chamber. The water will therefore be pushed up the pipe into the upper chamber of the vacpot.

It is important to remove the vacpot from the stove once there is only a thin (1/8?) layer of water in the lower chamber. Heating the glass with no water in the lower chamber will likely destroy your vacuum pot.

Step Six

Again, watch with delight! As the apparatus is removed from the heating source, the steam in the lower chamber will begin to condense. This condensing causes a vacuum in the lower chamber which will pull brewing coffee from the top chamber down the pipe into the lower chamber. You will know when the brew is complete because the brewed coffee in the bottom chamber will bubble as the expiring vacuum pulls a bit of outside air into the lower chamber.

Step Seven

Remove the top chamber from the lower one. You can place the pipe onto the black plastic lid that comes with the vacuum pot. Use the lower chamber as a serving vessel, or decant into a thermos.

Enjoy!
